As a knitter, I love knitting dishcloths. It’s true. I’m guilty. Maybe other people love to knit socks and sweaters, and I do too. Others are hung up on beanies and scarves – love it! Blankets? Can’t get enough. I’m here for all of it, but I have to say time and time again, I find my way over to the 100% cotton yarn, the cool looking stitch patterns, and knit me up some swatches that become a part of my everyday life.

Some ideas for why you might want to join Destination Dishcloth:
Destination Dishcloth is not just about dishcloth knitting. Nope, there are sizes so you may choose to knit up some smaller and make eco-friendly makeup remover pads for the environmentally conscientious friend who always looks fabulous.
All knitters need to have a nice stack of hand knit dishcloths/washcloths for the home. Why? Because it’s so practical and fun. They can be knit up quickly and are super useful. Maybe you knit a scarf you never wear, been there and done that. But have you ever knit a dishcloth you didn’t use? I don’t think so!
Are you a last minute knit gift knitter? You want each of your kids’ teachers, or maybe each of your friends to have one thing that you hand knit to show them how much you love them, but you wait until it’s too late. Typically you run out of time and wish you had something that was one-size fits all? Get a jumpstart on combatting that feeling!
And it helps that all Destination Dishcloth is full of free knit dishcloth patterns, so you don’t even have to spend money on the pattern!
What level knitter should join Destination Dishcloth?

Seriously, if you’re a marathon, year-round, 24/7/365 knitting junkie, Destination Dishcloth is the perfect place to unwind, and just enjoy a little victory lap. A little knitting snack that you can complete in an evening.
Maybe you’re just a sporadic and seasonal knitter, that’s ok too! These patterns are not too complicated. You can enjoy knitting it up in your spare time and take as long as you want to finish them.
Beginners and newbies – I’m looking at you. Let me tell you, my personal knitting philosophy is that learning to knit is best done on dishcloths. Practice, practice, practice, and make something cute and useful all at once.

Flower Garden Dishcloth
How I love to visit botanical gardens in the summer. Cosmos, roses, lilys, lilacs, Honestly, who can pick a favorite flower? Um, me, but that’s besides the point. This dishcloth is designed to look like a carefully curated flower garden. A lovely border surrounds your soil with carefully curated flowers popping up to say hello.
The Flower Garden Dishcloth is worked flat and comes in four different sizes. The border is made up of garter stitch, and the main portion of the pattern is stockinette stitch with a few purls to represent the flowers.
After the Concert Gridlock Dishcloth
Your high on adrenaline, the summer air has a slight breeze, it’s dark at night with headlights and stars shining down. You turn on the bands album that’s your personal favorite and don’t even mind the fact that you are stuck on a total gridlock of cars.
Worked flat, the After the Concert Gridlock Dishcloth uses a seed stitch boarder to represent gravel and a gridlocked pattern to resemble a parking lot, and line of cars waiting to hit the road.
Cross-Sea Waves Dishcloth
These waves apparently signal danger, but aren’t they also super cool looking? I personally love it. The waves coming in at a diagonal pattern, lapping at the beach.
Cross-Sea Waves Dishcloth is worked flat and features a rib stitch on the diagonal. Beware, you will need to blog this a lot for the pattern to shine, but I think it’s pretty worth it myself.
Moss on the Trail Dischcloth
Of course, we’re hiking – it’s summer. And that means we can spy some moss here and there on rocks, trails and tree trunks.
Moss on the Trail Dishcloth is worked flat and features a garter stitch border with Irish Moss Stitch pattern as the main body of the pattern.

The iconic smell of summer – freshly mowed grass. You know it when you smell it. It just smells fresh, and summery.
The Freshly Mowed Grass Dishcloth features a seed stitch border and classic stockinette stitch body. Of course you can always turn it over and pretend that purl side is before the grass is mowed, LOL. Either way it makes for a classic design that looks good no matter what yarn you use.
