Jubilee Sparkle Dish Yarn: A Review
Jubilee Yarn’s Sparkle Dish Yarn is a tinsel like yarn. The sparkly scrub fringe comes off a braided center and is made of a different material than the main core of the yarn. Jubilee Yarn says it is the “best kept secret in yarn.” They are a premium online wholesaler and yarn retailer out of Bloomington, MN, USA. You can find their yarns at Bamboom. Learn More

Jubilee Sparkle Dish Yarn Full Review
Jubilee Sparkle Dish Yarn is available in 16 solid colorways. Like Jubilee Scrubby Dish Yarn, you will need to purchase in multiples of 2 or 4. Also, they do have sets of analogous colorways you can choose from. This is appears to be a braided core of a material unlike the tinsel fringe.
The tinsel fringe is similar to other sparkly yarns, in that it appears to be… well… tinsel. But it’s not. In fact, it is very sturdy! After all I tugged hard on the fringe itself. And yet it had absolutely NO shedding!
What sets apart Jubilee Sparkle Dish yarn, and I absolutely LOVE this… is that it’s very pliable yarn. Meaning, it’s easy to knit with. I still have my texture issues, and the scrubby bits are a bit abrasive. However, the yarn itself moves just like regular yarn. There’s no stiffness, no weird “fishing line” feel to it. What’s more, it’s like knitting with regular yarn that’s a bit scratchy.
The way this yarn comes caked is not great for the yarn type. Because It tangles very easily and pull-from-center is just not happening. In fact a yarn like this would be better wound like a classic skein. I ended up having to stop mid-knit and wind the yarn into balls to keep from being absolutely frustrated. And all knitters know that winding a ball mid knitting is so disruptive to the process. Of course I should have wound it first!
Since this yarn is available for sale in quantities of 2 or 4, I decided to use the two-color 10-stitch knit pattern. I adore the way this turned out! The analogous color set I chose, which is “Red”, ended up making a lovely grapefruit looking finished object.

Final thought on Jubilee Sparkle Dish Yarn
