OzzyLosi Knit Designs FREE patterns
One time I did a survey of my email subscribers, would you rather pay for knit patterns, or access them for free on a website with ads? The response was a landslide in favor of ads and free. And so since that survey, I have been working hard to build up my free pattern base.
Here you can find a collection of all the free pattern pages on my website. There are some free download PDF files as well. Be sure to bookmark this page and check back frequently for more free patterns by OzzyLosi Knit Designs.
Cleaning Items (includes scrubbies and dishcloths/washcloths)
Here’s what I know, beginners should learn to knit by knitting small squares. Dishcloths and washcloths are the perfect item for beginner knitters. They are small, usually use a worsted weight yarn, and are useful when you’re done knitting. They make excellent gifts whether for house warming, wedding, engagement, new baby – whatever! Hand knit dish cloths and washcloths are awesome!
And let’s not forget those workhorse scrubbies. While also small, usually worsted weight, I would not recommend this for new knitters. But they also make great gift items and super useful around the home.
Here’s my catalog of free cleaning item knit patterns.
FREE Dishcloth and Washcloth Knit Patterns
So far, I’ve got these as a download. Which means, you will need to give me your email address so I can email you from time to time, and in exchange you get a PDF pattern that you can easily add to your Ravelry library, or on your favorite device to access anytime – internet or no.
FREE Scrubby Knit Patterns
These are all available for free on my website. You can find the links all here.

Classic Circle Scrubby!
If you’re looking to knit up some iconic looking scrubbies, I’ve got you covered with this pattern.
Knit flat and joined together with Kitchener’s Stitch for garter fabric.

Striped Scrubby
The Striped Scrubby combines the two most popular scrubby yarn choices. Regular and sparkly!
Knit flat using garter stitch, you can knit these up in a flash!

The Seed Scrubber is a powerful scrubby. Combining scrubby yarn with the Seed Stitch for extra scrubbing oomf!
Knit flat using seed stitch, this is another pattern that can be knit super fast.

Speaking of combining scrubby powers… The Mighty Mitered Scrub uses that spongy type scrubby yarn – so this super thick scrubby also acts as a sponge.
Knit flat using mitered square techniques, with this bulky weight yarn you will be finished fast.

Have you knit on the bias yet?
This is such a fun way to knit because you cast-on just a few stitches, and then watch your little square grow. No sooner do you reach the pinnacle when you’re done and begin decreasing stitches until you have just a few left to bind-off.

The Mosaic Scrubby is fun to knit and gift! With this beautiful pattern you feel like you are not only making something useful, but also beautiful.
Knit flat using a bit of intarsia mixed with mosaic style knitting.

Rocket Pop Scrubby!
You don’t have to be from the U.S. to enjoy this pattern. Customization options include how to make this anywhere from 1-3 flavors. Just choose what yarn you like and create your own popsicle theamed scrubby.
P.S. that popsicle stick? It’s an i-cord loop for hanging!

I love a kitchen with yellow! It just fits. Clean, bright, lemony, sunshiney goodness.
All in a scrubby of course.
Knit in the round with a picot bind-off for the sun rays.

Watermelon Wedge Scrub is so fun! And it doesn’t have to be watermelon either. Choose your favorite fruit colors to customize this wedge pattern to your taste buds.
Knit flat using short rows – no seaming required.

Flower Power Scrub is perfect for those print scrubby yarns.
Knit flat using short rows and seaming together with mattress stitch. This is another one of those that you will want to keep, and give away!
FREE Knits For the Home

Blush and Bashful table runner has been a major favorites of my subscribers! And no wonder – it really is beautiful.
I’ve had a few people suggest making it into a shawl pattern, so that’s sitting in the back of my head, but we’re not there yet. Until then you can make this beautiful table runner.
FREE Knit Wearables
And now to the fun freebies – the ones we can wear! Let’s get into it.
FREE Knit Shawl Patterns

Any Way the Wind Blows shawl was my first ever shawl design – and it is a homerun. At least with my mom….
Never has my mom ever wanted my knit items. She always says “I don’t like knit things.” Then when I was working on this shawl she asked what I was going to do with it.
Turns out, she loved it and wanted it for herself. I’m so glad! She wears it often to church.
FREE Knit Beanie Patterns

If you’re looking for a simple skull cap that has a folded brim, this one is perfect! Rib pattern for the rib and the rest made up of stockinette stitch.
Eye catching for it’s simplicity this beanie is an easy one to gift away.

The Line Art Beanie is also very popular, but I never got this tech edited. I have that on my list of to do too!
Each section of this beanie contains a different knit and purl combination to make it similar to those line art drawings where you do different patterns with black pen.

Cast-on knitting methods
Cast-on knitting projects can cause a lot of anxiety. Which method should you use? Where is that stretchy cast-on method I see everywhere!? Don’t be mad, but it doesn’t exist. I mean there are stretchy cast-on methods, but not one of them is called “Stretchy”. Read more about cast-on method categories and what it all means.
